Japan aims to combat energy shortage with the completion of a new LNG project with assistance from global ship to ship transfer specialists SPT. Commissioning and full cold trial LNG Ship-To-Ship Transfers have been completed successfully between the 125,000 m³ LNGC LNG Taurus, chartered by JAPEX (Japan Petroleum Exploration Co.,LTD), owned and operated by MOL (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.), and the coastal 3,500 m³ LNGC Akebono Maru, chartered by JAPEX, owned and operated by Shinwa Chemical tankers. The ship-to-ship transfer of LNG planned and operated by JAPEX is the first of its kind in Japan and is fully compliant with the new SIGTTO LNG STS guidelines. SPT also added support and advice to the project when going through the approval process with the Japanese government and coastguard. Bahamas Added to SPT's Global Portfolio of Support Bases

SPT has successfully completed their first support operation at their new Bahamas location. This operation was a prime example of the company’s ability to react quickly and meet the needs of their customers. From gaining the approval of the Bahamas authorities, finding a suitable support craft with a well-established local operator and to transporting the equipment with a tight deadline to accommodate the vessels involved. It was a great display of teamwork and the organization extends their thanks to everyone who brought this formation to fruition.

SPT Achieves Safety Milestone of Working Two Years Without a Lost Time Injury

SPT Inc. (“SPT” or the “Company”) announced today that on August 1, the Company accomplished the safety milestone of working 730 days without a lost time injury (an injury requiring time off from work).

SPT is a worldwide provider of marine transfer services and leads the industry with its safety performance. SPT has continually made safety its top priority, investing in simulator training for all Mooring Masters and crewmembers, and increasing the frequency of near miss reporting to identify a potentially unsafe condition before it escalates into an incident.

SPT Receives the Devlin Award for Safety Excellence

SPT continues to set new records for our safety performance. On June 2^nd, four Lightering Support Vessels received the prestigious Devlin Award issued by the Chamber of Shipping of America. Devlin Award Certificates are awarded to all self-propelled merchant vessels that have operated for two full years or more without a crew member losing a full turn at watch because of an occupational injury. Three levels of achievement are recognized: a basic two-year award; a three year award; and a four-year award. A special award is given annually to ships with five or more years of accident-free operation. To qualify for a Devlin Award Certificate, a vessel must be in operation with a full crew. Days in protracted lay-up resulting in crew reduction are not considered days in operation.

The vessels receiving the award were the SPT Protector, SPT Defender, SPT Guardian and SPT Vigilance.

This recognition is the result of the hard work and dedication of all of our offshore and shore-side support staff. I thank each and every one of the team for your contribution to our continued success in safety performance. With your help and support we can look forward to celebrating many more successes.

SPT Selected as Technical Advisor for Kuwait Gasport During 2010 Regasification Season

HOUSTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--SPT Inc. (“SPT”), as agent for SPT Ltd., has commenced its technical support services for the Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s (“KNPC”) Kuwait National Gasport during the 2010 regasification season. The Kuwait National Gasport provides natural gas to meet internal industrial and commercial needs. Since operations began in April there have been multiple liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) cargoes delivered to the terminal and successfully offloaded.

“Together, KNPC and SPT have made a number of operational improvements resulting in significant efficiency savings. The partnership between KNPC and SPT has proven to be very successful, and SPT is looking forward to continuing the relationship with such an accomplished company.”

“SPT Gives Back to the Community in 2009” Houston, Texas - During this season of giving, SPT Inc. continues to uphold our commitment to the community through volunteering and gift donation. Houston Food Bank On December 11, 2009, employees of SPT Inc. volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, a private non-profit organization that seeks food donations and distributes to local charitable programs. Through this charitable giving, the Houston Food Bank is able to provide food for 80,000 different people each week. To better help the Houston Food Bank deliver food to those in need, our team members volunteered their time in the central warehouse sorting and packaging donated food items into boxes that will feed a family of four for one week. “SPT Responds to Call for Emergency Ship to Ship Transfer “

On Monday, February 24^th, 2009 the SPT Crusader performed an emergency lightering operation with the Yasa Golden Dardanelles. The Yasa Golden Dardanelles had grounded 28 miles from Galveston on Friday, February 20^th.

SPT Mooring Master Captain Dave Edwards directed the operation with the Captain of the SPT Crusader, Captain H. P. DeVitre. The SPT Crusader was brought alongside the Yasa Golden Dardanelles in the early afternoon. By early evening 83,000 bbls of fuel oil had been transferred from the Yasa Golden Dardanelles to the SPT Crusader. The SPT Crusader separated and departed the scene a couple hours later. The operation was completed without injury to personnel, no spillage of oil to the environment and no damage to the vessels. The SPT Crusader discharged the fuel oil in Houston on Wednesday, February 25^th.

SPT Inc. participated in the unified command responding to the incident alongside the USCG, other federal and state agencies having an interest, representatives of the QI and Titan Marine.

In the last 20 years, we have performed more than 10,000 operations, transferring over 6 billion barrels of crude oil and petroleum products. On a daily basis, we lighter 1.1 million barrels of crude a day, or 15 percent of all seaborne crude oil into U.S. ports.
